2.3. COMBINED FLOW
In some types of heat exchangers is the possibility that some of the fluid has two settings, counter and parallel on the same device.
In the next image is a heat exchanger shell and tubes (1-2) combined with flow settings:
Where the fluid 1 is the hot fluid (red) that flows through the body fluid and the fluid 2 is cold (blue) circulates inside the tube. The cooling fluid circulates twice inside the tubes while the hot fluid flows only once through the interior of the shell.
